I understand you want a floorstander and really liked the Dali ikon 6, but are you open to monitors at all? For under 2k, the Dynaudio X16 bookshelves are quite good and easy to drive, even with a receiver. The next one up is the X32 which garnered great reviews: http://whathifi.com/Review/Dynaudio-Excite-X32/

X16s shown in gloss white.

Are you in the City of Chicago or in the burbs? If you're in the City, Promusica by clark and fullerton is quite a reputable dealer and if you're in the burbs, then Nextlevel AV is in bartlet, IL- they are absolutely great to deal with.

I do have Dynaudio Focus 110 speakers that'll give floor standers in the $1500range a run for their money.

I don't know about the X16, but here is the review on the Dynaudio DM 2/6:

The DM 2/6’s listening-window response (a five-point average of axial and +/–15-degree horizontal and vertical responses) measures +1.92/–2.96 decibels from 200 hertz to 10 kilohertz. An average of axial and +/–15-degree horizontal responses measures +1.91/–2.89 dB from 200 Hz to 10 kHz. The –3-dB point is at 59 Hz, and the –6-dB point is at 52 Hz. Impedance reaches a minimum of 5.89 ohms at 190 Hz and a phase angle of –39.45 degrees at 2.9 kHz.

Here is the X12 review:

The X12’s listening-window response (a five-point average of axial and +/–15-degree horizontal and vertical responses) measures +0.96/–5.64 decibels from 200 hertz to 10 kilohertz. The –3-dB point is at 59 Hz, and the –6-dB point is at 48 Hz. Impedance reaches a minimum of 5.77 ohms at 205 Hz and a phase angle of –35.02 degrees at 111 Hz.

As if we needed reinforcement that price does not translate into performance:

The $1,645/pr (bookshelf) Avalon NP Evolution 1.0’s listening-window response (a five-point average of axial and +/–15-degree horizontal and vertical responses) measures +4.30/–6.56 decibels from 200 hertz to 10 kilohertz. The –3-dB point is at 70 Hz, and the –6-dB point is at 53 Hz. Impedance reaches a minimum of 4.30 ohms at 174 Hz and a phase angle of –43.51 degrees at 93 Hz.

Wow, a tolerance of -6.56dB for a not-so-cheap bookshelf speaker?

That gloss white looks really cool! And those #s that ADTG gave seem pretty good, to me. :)

Got the RX6 Speakers

Just want to say thanks to everyone for their input!
After listening to a lot of speakers, we ended up deciding to go with the Monitor Audio RX6 speakers. Really like them - they sound great in my room. Now I'm getting the itch to upgrade my receiver / amp... But for now, I think I'll have to stick with my Onkyo HT-R640.
