I wonder how the Brown and Goldman family are making out getting their money from OJ ??
If Trump wants to take the OJ approach, he will need to go broke and get himself locked up for armed robbery and kidnapping.

In some ways Trump seems to be on a somewhat similar path.

Forbes editor states Trumpy has around 400 million cash on hand, so the 83 mil won't knock him out but depending on his other pending lawsuits, who knows...........

He testified a year ago he had about that much cash on hand....some estimate that differently now. Be sweet if he gets totally shut down in NY plus a fat verdict from Engoron. Jail would be nicer, tho.

Don't think OJ is broke. His money is tied up in retirement funds that are protected from monetary access from cases and lives in Florida.

You meant to say "better." Certainly not nicer unless in one of those luxury prison farms.
Even then, your freedom is controlled, certainly no access to private jets. :D

Just meant as in outcome. He likely wouldn't see the prison he should, will probably be like the mafia guys in various films with all the perks/comforts for the donald with his secret service "crew"

In a rare display of lucidity, Habba completely dropped the conflict accusations.

>>>NEW YORK, Jan 30 (Reuters) - A lawyer for Donald Trump on Tuesday backed off her suggestion that the judge who oversaw E. Jean Carroll's two successful civil defamation trials against the former U.S. president might have had a conflict of interest. . . . In a letter on Tuesday, Roberta Kaplan called it "utterly baseless" to suggest there had been such a relationship, and said she might seek sanctions if Habba kept making "false accusations of impropriety."
Habba indicated that Kaplan's letter appeared to settle the matter.<<<

Even Habba will respond to threats of sanctions.

We can only hope, but what if, the Judge slaps Trump with a huge fine, Trumpo apologies to the Court. Almost like the 9th season of the Dallas TV series and its Dream Season, where it was all a dream.:oops::oops::rolleyes::eek:

Yah beat me to it!

The big question is whether or not the Supreme Court will agree to review the decision.

>>>If, however, the Supreme Court does accept the case, the crucial question will become how quickly the justices act in asking for briefs and in scheduling arguments. Should they move rapidly to hear the case and issue a decision, there remains the chance that a trial on the election charges will occur before the general election in November.

But if the justices take their time, it is possible a trial could be put off until after the election. And were that to happen and Mr. Trump were to win, he would be in a position to ask his Justice Department to dismiss the case or even seek to pardon himself.<<<

Only 4 of 9 justices on the Supreme Court need to agree to grant cert, so it is certainly possible this will be reviewed by the Supreme Court. Just granting review would be a victory of sorts for Trump because it would lead to more delay, which might give him the chance to dismiss the case if he's elected.
