Esinken Bluetooth Receiver to Yamaha HTR 5840

Greetings. New here. I have a Yamaha HTR 5840 that I have rarely used and am not that familiar with. I am trying to connect the Esinkin Bluetooth receiver and have not had success. I know not to connect it to phono, but have tried other combinations. Any advice? I am trying to eliminate variables before I decide I have a bad unit and return it. Thanks in advance.

Yes, the phono input should not be used due its different gain/RIAA functions. Any other analog input on the avr should work.
