Clear Rear Projection

I recently visited a museum that used clear glass projector screens mounted on the ceiling with a short throw projector behind them and am now obsessed. I really want this for my media room, but don't even know where to begin. Is there a special projector? I'm assuming it's special glass. What kind? What specs matter? I need the glass to be truly see through when not in use. Is there a quality reduction over a white screen? I'm in a windowless media room so light and reflections aren't an issue.

I appreciate any help with my new obsession.

Rear projection on nearly clear glass using holographic film has a huge impact on image quality. It's 'cool' but looks like garbage. The fact that you were overcome with how cool it looks is great, but if you took time to seriously evaluate the image quality that was delivered, you would realize that it wasn't close to what you would want in a good home theater.

Front projection is still the way to go. Lots of incredible options there.
