Im looking to purchase a pair of entry level (budget) floorstanding speakers for my living room to listen solely to MUSIC . After much internet research I have narrowed my choices down to Two:

PIONEER SP FS52LR ($129.00 EACH) OR FLUANCE XL7F (499.00 PAIR)

Are the Fluance worth the extra money?
Any knowledge on this subject is appreciated. Thanks

Check out the AAL. These are certainly worth the extra $ over the stock Pios.

Do you have any experience with comparing the AAL to the Emptek e55ti towers?

Hi strammer no I have not, but I was very interested like 2 years ago when they were on sale before I bought the Pioneers 52's.

Interesting. The similar bookshelves have a woofer that rings like a bell and actually contributes more to the treble sound than the tweeter. I wonder whether they put a low-pass filter on the tower woofers.
The word is that they have a first order high-pass at 4500 khz.
The reviews also seem to be mixed

Do you mean high pass for tweeter, as opposed to low pass for woofer?
Just want to be sure I understand whether it addresses the concern Dennis raises.

If you are looking at spending $499 on those Fluance, I'd wait until I could up my budget slightly and go with something like Monitor Audio BX6. You should be able to get a pair for about $700.

I'm planning on the Pioneer SP-FS52. I don't think there is a better speaker anywhere close to the price range.
