    FS: Behringer EP2000 + DCX 2496

Hello, Just moved and the house does not have a finished basement for my HT so I need to downgrade: Behringer EP 2000. $170 / obo. Barely Used (minor scratch on top). Only ran with one JL 13w1v2-4. Behringer DCX 2496. $200 / obo. Combo - $350 / obo plus I'll throw in 2 XLR cables and 1...

    Caper's TRIO12 + 2 PRs Sub Build

Nice job. I think you put the threaded inserts in wrong though. They should go the opposite way so they squeeze the sub to the baffle.

    DIY JL 12w7 + EP2500

Here's a pic of the ground loop isolater: (it doesn't matter how many subs you have) And, yea, you are adding complexity by putting the subs underneath the stairs b/c you have no ability to adjust the location and will rely solely on equalization. (I'm not a super expert like these other...

    Zaph 5.2 In-Wall Build

Thanks Annunaki. Feel free to offer some constructive criticism. I didn't go crazy on the design concept since it is my "low-end" home theater.

    DIY JL 12w7 + EP2500

I'm lost in this thread: - If you are still having hum issues, I got a little magical device called a ground loop isolator for the cable line that worked wonders. I got it at partexpress but I was having trouble trying to find the exact one on their website. - The basic setup for the DCX...

    Zaph 5.2 In-Wall Build

It sounds great of course. I expected to be missing some low mid-range due to it being an in-wall install. So, it is fine for a low-spl family room environment and will handle what I can throw at it when the wife is away. So I am def happy (and more so, the wife is too).

    Zaph 5.2 In-Wall Build

So, I had been trying to convince the wifey for several years to do in-wall speakers and she was not having it. Finally, with a baby on the way she didn't want the "danger" of the speakers falling on the wee one and finally gave me the go ahead to do the in-wall speakers and wiring for the TV. I...

    JL 13w1v2-4 Build

    JL 13w1v2-4 Build

Yea, the input gain is +5 and the gain is up all the way. Lowering it does lower the hum a little bit but it is still noticable at quite moments in a movie. What do you mean twisted cable?

    JL 13w1v2-4 Build

Yea, constant. I'm pretty sure its the cable. I have subwoofer coaxial cable to xlr adaptor into DCX 2469, then EP2000.

    JL 13w1v2-4 Build

Yea, I know. I wanted to make sure I had some power in reserve in case I wanted to upgrade. If I could only get rid of the darn hum I would turn it on more often...

    Which Subwoofer to get?

We all have sub-optimized components within our overal systems but those are usually designated for upgrade as appropriate. To go out and specifically purchase a sub-optimized component, especially one as important as a subwoofer, is just plain ludicrous. Unless you plan on putting this in...

    What Sub for Family Room?

Wow, thanks Granteed, that is exactly what I needed. I always wanted to build a kit with passive radiators, and that price is much more affordable... How would something like this sound? The plot looks very nice, almost exactly the same as my 7 cu ft. JL13.5 in 1/8 the box! Thanks, Any...

    What Sub for Family Room?

So, the wifey has finally given the go ahead to build a sub for the main room. I am looking at a 8" or 10" speaker in a 'ok' sized enclosure (maybe 24'"x24"x12" absolute MAX). No need for 120db @ 20 Hz. Just want a nice sounding sub that will not be overwhelming but better much better then the 1...

    1. Have you heard of either of these free services? NO 2. How do you currently play music from your computer on your home audio system? I do not play music from my computer. I use CDs and ipod. 3. Would you be interested in a powered speaker that you could plug into any AC outlet and...

    JL 13w1v2-4 Build

Not sure yet, I wanted to match my zmv5's with cherry veneer and texture front baffle, but I think that would be a little excessive for 6+ cu. ft box! I just think it would stand out too much. Most likely will just do black texture all the way around.
