Well this is Texas you can assume we are all armed with a knife and usually a gun. It's a cultural thing I suppose. Wild west culture still is rampant.

I used to have a decent little collection, but left it at my mom's place when I went off to college. Most have disappeared since my brother has been there, but I've got a few that I've kept with me

Kershaw Chive in black and gold.. Gift from my Grandmother

Gerber Ripstop 1.. Bought at Target on clearance for $5

Buck 0119BKS-B Special.. Found at scout camp forever ago. No one claimed it by the end of the camp so they let me keep it.

Smith & Wesson dual blade Cuttin Horse.. gift from my brother. Mom decided it looked good to re-grout her shower with and broke both blade tips off. Mine has a full serrated side though

I am entertaining the idea of buying myself a new one after the first of the year.. Something from SOG or Spyderco I imagine.

FYI, this thread is like porn for me, I love blades and have mostly show pieces. I only have a couple utility knives.

Very True, but according to reviews Ken Onion's I ordered is supposedly made in US. - I think It makes it one of cheapest Kershaw's made locally, cheaper than that are almost guaranteed to be China made, yet according to reviews they not that bad

I ordered Leek not for protection, but for occasional outdoor/camping/bbq use - I think I will do fine - according to some sources Ken Onion designs are what made Kershaw brand famous :)
I want confirm - the Ken Onion Kershaw I got a while is indeed made in USA and it's really great blade (not for hunting I guess) , but great for light usage and camping. And yes - it's razor sharp

The lighting and poor camera skills don't do them justice, but here is my new Shun Ken Onion chef's knife along side the Shun Premier santoku that I got last holiday season.

What, no stand? Just to think of it I paid $249.00 for that about 6 years ago. I still think it was worth that much. No regrets not even at that price.
