Zack Snyder’s “Rebel Moon” movie franchise on Netflix

Well, Rebel Moon director's cut is here for both parts on Netflix. One is about 50 minutes longer, the other is over an hour longer.
Thanks, I'll wait for the reviews to come out. I might have been less harsh on these than others, but if it's just adding an hour of special effects without improving the story, I'll pass on a rewatch.

Weird, IMDB doesn’t have the director’s cuts listed, only articles and links to reviews

It’s like putting lipstick on a pig, sorry to say. I watched the second part of the original movie with a liberal use of the fast-forward button.

Interesting. Not sure when it showed up on Netflix as I just noticed them last night looking for something to watch but not one that is 3 hours long so late.

I got through the first 30 minutes, definitely better than the edited version so far but I also enjoy sci fi space stories. Very dark where as the original felt more campy.

Then what, you paused it and posted? ;) :D:D:D

Any good skin in that 30 min?
I have a new lady friend who is distracting me from getting through a movie at the moment. Skin, ask my new lady friend, I didn’t see any skin… lol

I finished the director's cuts last night.

I've generally enjoyed Snyder's longer versions for his other movies but these are a different matter.

His thing has always been violence and the way he films it, and that has worked for him in other films. But these... It's nearly six hours of gory headshot after headshot. And if it's not a headshot, it's someone being ripped apart by the shot in some other way. It's pointless gore and pretty much tasteless all around. And he dialed up the cruelty to make the bad guys seem more bad (as though we didn't know they were bad already). I think he watched the torture porn scene that was Neegan's intro in the Walking Dead that drove half the audience away and said "I can top that". Frankly, I found it almost insulting that he thinks this is what I wanted to see.

He does use the extra time here and there to add, you know, a bit more supporting stuff. If it's not sex or some other gore scene, it's still usually unremarkable. While a bit hokey, I did actually enjoy all the extra scenes of Jimmy's little journey of "finding himself" off on his own. But that's pretty much all I can recall that made an impression storytelling-wise.

Pretty disappointing. While not great in their own right, this is one case where I think the edited PG version of a Snyder film is actually the fairly clearly superior product.

Sure looks like there could be a part three.

I would have enjoyed more Jimmy and the sex scenes were pointless with no buildup or chemistry between actors while the first scene was supposed to be the second was not. I do feel the story overall made a little more sense but not much. I didn’t mind the extra gore but there should have been more story telling and character development added and not just filler.

So, a series with 6 to 8 , even 10 episodes per season to cover all that. I am in. :D

I survived until 20 minutes in when the star of the show (with a nice figure and boobs) is shown behind a plough drawn by some animal along with some moons in the background along with some weird light not conductive to photosynthesis. Then I remembered how f*cking moronic it is that a small group of third world subsistence farmers is essential to feeding a faster-than-light armada of space ships with very many people.

It would be a much better story if the beautiful and busty heroine quite simple lived among those third world subsistence farmers. But, alas, no!

No, she had to be part of the king's court, military who got tired of the king and government. :D

Also of interest that with all that tech their video feed was a large glass bottle, dialed in the cannon's targets by hand, and a few more..

But we still enjoyed it and waiting to see part 3 with all the Reble alliances going against the king and the :D
