ysp 1100

I was hoping someone out there can help me. I bought a yamaha ysp 1100 and hsu sub. I have a sony xbr lcd with 1 HDMI hook up. I have the ysp hooked up to my HD cable box via comp. video the tv through HDMI from the cable box. The proble I am having is i can't get the ysp menu on the tv screen and my sub woofer does'n work while watching tv.
Do I have to hook up the comp. video lines from the cable box to the TV and take off the HDMI line because the YSP doen't have HDMI? I hope that made some sense.

Rick, welcome to the forum!

If I understood you correctly, you have the YSP1100 hooked up the the cable box and the cable box hooked up to the TV. However, I don't see where you have the YSP1100 hooked up to the TV. In order to view information from the YSP on your TV, you'll need to connect a video out signal from the YSP to a video in jack on the TV.

If you'll let us know how you have it all hooked up, including the audio signals, we should be able to help you out - including your subwoofer question.

As with many of the Yamaha receivers, mine included, the OSD is not supported thru component connections. If I,m reading your post correctly, this would be the trouble.
You'll need to run a S-video or composite connect to see the OSD on the TV.

ysp 1100 connection problems

i am having the same problem; cannot get the osd to come up on my sony bravia kdl 52xbr4. did anyone come up with a workable solution to this problem.?
