Your Thoughts on Polk?...

Polk speakers tend to lack resolution and strain when you feed them power, and they've got lazy half assed crossovers leading to hot tweeters.

How far are you from Ontario, CA?

Yawa still has MB Quart QL-S830($999pr) in store available for audition, and they are in Ontario, CA.

Thanks Zumbo for those links. I know that the look of a speaker is a very very small part when deciding but those Focals are one KILLER looking tower!!! Those are a piece of art to me! Wow! I could only hope they sound great as well. I'll for sure be taking a listen to those if i can.

I live in Whittier so Ontario is only about a 30min drive. I will try to get down to that shop thanks for that as well.

I should plan a day of karting my 683s around to all these shops to have a "control" when listening to all these different brands in their environment!!

Guaranteedev you mention the harshness but i got no sense of that with the LSiMs & we had them up at one point where the ATIs clipping light started to blink. We turned it down of course but it never sounded strained. I wonder if this new line is much improved over the ones youve heard or not...? Interesting.

On crap...I thought Zumbo was off his rocker untill I realized it was Ontario, CA and not Ontario Canada....:p. Your ~1hr or so from Ascend Acoustics (San Clemente, CA) you gotta at least attempt the drive and audition some Sierra Towers if your considering new speakers in that price range. I am sure Dave would accommodate you & your BWs if you brought them along ....:)

Focal has pretty-much taken over the car audio scene. They have most of the previous MB Quart customers. Very detailed sounding quality made product.

The MB Quart speakers I posted are old models that were hand-made in Germany before the company sold. Please make an effort to audition. I have three pair. Front and rear in HT, and also in my 2-channel rig. Make sure they put PLENTY of power to them. You will be amazed. Speakers are worth $2400 retail in quality compared to other current available offerings.

My very close friend has 683's. MB Quart QL-S830 mop the floor with them. The folks at Yawa are super cool. I bet they would allow you to roll them in.

United online shopping keeps B&W 800 series on the sales floor in their retail store to compare MB Quart QL-S models to. They are that good.

Pardon my over-excitement, as you are the first Audioholic member that actually has a chance to audition these fantastic speakers.

Don't even consider the 1030 models. The 830's measure better.
