Anybody have any input on the Denon3803 and the YamahaRxv2400. Do they compare performance wise? Feature wise they appear similiar to me, both offer rs232 ports as well. The dac's on the 3803 are said to be all Burr Brown, would this be a deciding factor to lean towards the Denon model. Cosmetically I prefer the Yamaha and also its remote. So basically if both are the same price $799 through my local retailer, which would you opt for and why? I'm considering returning my unused RXV1400 for one of these other 2 receivers, any feedback would be great.

Why bother getting the 2400 over the 1400? Are you unsatisfied with the 1400 for some reason, or do you just have extra money burning a hole in your poscket?

The two receivers are very much alike.

the 2400 has 50% more capacitance in the power supply and a much better remot. although the power rating is only 10 watts higher on the 2400 there would be a bigger difference if all the channels were driven at once due to the larger capacitance. the remote alone is worth quite a bit

You have an authorized dealer near you selling the 2400 for only 800 bucks? I thought these things were all coming out at 1000?

I have yet to hook up the RXV1400, I have bought it with confidence knowing that it will more than likely keep me happy. However for the extra $160 is it worth jumping to the RXV2400 or possibly the Denon 3803. Reasons being macro remote, rs232 port which to my knowledge at least on the RXV3300 will upgrade digital formats later as well as store settings off a pc. As far as the Denon3803 it has all dacs driven with Burr Brown processing. Obviously both companies put out great products. In my situation, 1 is it worth to jump from the 1400? which for the money $160 it probably is and 2 which model and why rxv2400 or denon3803? Is anybody familliar with the 3803? For the record I live 50 minutes south of ABT ELECTRONICS, my salesman has cut me fantastic prices on everything i've bought there. However if you shop them online abtelectronics.com they post regular prices. In this case $999 for both rxv2400 and denon3803, my salesman has offerred both to me for only $799 Anybody have any advice?
