You Can't Take it With You - can you?

I'm hanging out in my HT, enjoying great picture and sound and realizing it's can't last. It can't, because I'm getting ready to move to a new city and a new house for work. If I had my way, we'd pick up this house and plant it in the new town, but it won't work that way and I'm looking at going through the build process all over again.

I'm looking for some advice from those who have gone through this bit of agony and opportunity. Did you sell all of your gear with your house? Did you take it with you? If you did sell the gear, how did you price it? At the least, I figure I'll leave the screen because it's difficult to move and the in-wall rear speakers.

I have a feeling that a few buyers would want to make their own gear choices... but that the vast majority would rather have all the decisions made and the system ready to turn on and enjoy.

Advice please!

Thanks.

I few years ago with the real estate market the way it was. You could have probably easily tripled your money leaving your system behind. But in todays market with real estate. It's hard enough to sell your house for what you want, much less whats inside. But you never know. The right person might come along.

You could leave it as an option for what you consider to be a fair dollar amount. If the buyer wants it then you're both good. If not, then yank everything, patch some holes and paint the room to the buyers taste. Once again, you're both good. The buyer gets a painted room and you still have all your gear.
