yet another soffit bass trap thread...

I've read the threads regarding bass traps in soffits, but I'm still a little foggy as to the type of traps that would be ideal for this scenario.
Let me start by saying that a soffit-style system is the only practical approach for my room, aside from the rear wall, which will be treated for HF absorption/diffusion.

Here's a side view of the soffit space where the traps will be installed.
The horizontal space is flexible though, and can be enlarged to 24" x 12" or 36" x 12" if necessary.
The soffit will encircle the entire room, and will contain "pockets" in certain locations for lighting and ventilation, but the vast majority of the space is for bass traps.

Here's a floorplan showing where a 36" wide soffit will be located.
The dimensions of this area are 17' x 13' with 8' ceiling.

Fritz,

I didn't quite understand your drawings, but I can tell you this: The main design goal of a soffit bass trap is to have the least amount of "rigid material" like wood or sheet rock in the way, and as much fiberglass as possible exposed to the room. Something like a frame made from thin wood, stuffed fully with rigid fiberglass and covered with a lightweight cloth will work well.
