I'm a big fan of Denon (3805, 4306, 3910, etc), but those prices seem a bit steep when you compare them to Pioneer and Yamaha's offerings (which just happen to be two other brands I've recently looked at). Also, the BD player they are offering is pretty limited at first glance.

My vote is for the Oppo also. I have a Panasonic BD55 right now which I am very pleased with. The additional audio formats are what attract me the most to the '83. Since Oppo does not change their shirts every few months like the more popular brands, I am sure the BDP-83 will be around quite a while after it's released. No hurry....

Any thoughts on the NAD T587? Says decodes DD (while listing other DD mades separately) via optical or coax. Plus, I love my NAD Cd player and pretty much everything else they make...

I did a search here but got no hits. Odd.
