i've the rxv1300, and running axiom m60's as mains, and in the garage, i have 2 old ads bookshelf speakers hooked to the "b" speaker connections. my question is, why do the smaller ads speakers sound louder than the axioms when i walk form the house to the garage? is it simply because they are only 2 way, with less to drive? or is it that the b speakers do not share the same set ups as the mains?
thanks,

twodan,

take into consideration the difference in accoustics. there is furniture in you house that will absorb alot of sound, where as in you garage is like a cave, sound echos and can seem, or even become louder do to larger space.

Or the spealers may have different sensitivities. A speaker with 2-3db higher sensitivity will always sound louder on the same amp volume.
