Yammaha 861 - Multichannel in - no bass management?

Hi all.

I got a subwoofer and I found out that my receiver does not do any bass management when I'm using the multichannel analog inputs (the 6 line-in RCAs).
This was a problem because I use my computer as my primary sound source. When playing or listening to music I could not get to sub to make a single sound.

I have bass management on my sound card and have a dcx 2496, so my problem was solved, but I've searched the net and I think this might be a common "feature" of many receivers. My receiver also does not let me use any DSP effects when using the multichannel inputs.

Is this really common? Are there receivers that have the full DSP power on all inputs?

I think it is pretty common, if not the norm. Generally using the analog inputs assumes that the source will be doing the bass management as well as the decoding.

Nice suggestion. I'll keep those in mind when I build my living room audio setup.
Thanks:)
