Yamaha Z9 not up to snuff

I am sorry to say that after two week up living with this great receiver I have decided to return it and go back to my Denon 5801. I orignally upgraded in order to to handle the video switching need I have. I really could not tell the difference in sound quality between the Dennon and the Z9.
We only use them for HT applications.

I have been playing around with the video processing and settings in order to get the best possible display output for my 61" DLP display.
I have been plauged by sudden shut offs from the Z9. Yes I have checked all the speaker cables. This happens when I first turn it on around 10 to 20 min. I know simply returning for an exchange would solve this.

But by far the worst thing I have found in this receiver is the inability to have seperate video settings for the devices I need it to switch.

First device is hughs hd10-250 PVR. I need to connect this directly to the DLP by means of a HDMI. The Z9 does not have HDMI switching. I knew this going in to this.

The second device I use is dishnetwork 501 PVR with componet out going in to the Z9

Third Sony 7700 DVD with 480i componet out. Leting the Z9 upconvert to 720p is very nice.

Xbox,
I have a different video setting need for all my devices.

I can't understand why Yamaha chose not to include this is beyond me.

I think I will go back to Denon and spend the money on a quality outboard Video/processor that can handle HDMI as well.

Can you give an example of a flagship receiver under $5k that does do this?

It sounds to me like your needs exceed the defined scope of the product (which you pretty much stated).

Maby I expected too much in a $4500 unit. What is so hard in providing a memory for the video inputs?
My dish501 is sd and needs scaled with a little less contrast added.
My Sony 7700 just needs upconverted to 720p with no video corrections.
You see what I am talking about?
My old Denon allowed seperate input memory of the audio inputs to match the different devices.
Yamaha has gone to the trouble of adding video switching with processing and I feel it does a great job in that but I would like it to remember the settings I set it to for each of the devices it is connected to.

No shut offs at insanely high volumes with my Yamaha Z-9 and real difficult load NS-1000x speakers or for that matter any other speakers.
