Yamaha Z11/Z7 MCH subwoofer input

I don't know if this topic has already been dealt with (I am sorry if it has) but are there any Z11/Z7 owners using the multichannel input ? Until recently I used HDMI to interface between my DVD/BD player and my Z11. During the weekend I tried the multichannel input and the subwoofer doesn't seem to be reacting to the SW signal of my DVD/BD player. The DVD/BD player does send a SW signal; I tested this with the player's testtones.

Has anyone similar experiences with their Z11 or Z7 ?

Nothing at all? usually you need to run the sub input at least 10dbs hot on the mc analog inputs and you need to tell the yamaha to use the inputs. All of the MC inputs bypass bass managment and eq.

Nothing, nada... and I did increment the sub level on the player with 10db and yes I used the MC input.

I also mentioned this issue in post 1869

and another owner (of 2 Z11's : post 1875) has the same issue.

Yikes! :eek::(

Try PMing Gene just to be sure he doesn't miss this thread. He might be able to help you, and if he can't, maybe he knows someone at Yamaha he can go bother.
