I Plan to order a V3900 or a Zx7 as I
am currently ordering a custom cabinet.
In order to design the doors,
I need to know the location of the infa red receiver eye on the Console
of the V3900? What about the ZX7? I have a 2400 now.

Thanks. These units are not available in Canada for a couple of months.

Go to the Yamaha website and download the manuals. You will have to create an account to view the manuals. In the document they will have a page that lists everything on the display and the location of the IR receiver.

Why don't you just use an RF remote or an external IR receiver with flashers in the cabinet so this is not an issue?

IR REmote

I use a Ir remote on my 2400 and works fine.
My new cabinet is using "Black Screen" for the doors. Better cooling.
But I am designing the door ... 1 door or two. If the eye is in the Middle
it will have 1 door.

I will try to get the manual from Yamaha.com.

Thanks but ....

I cannot access the Manuals, because I have a Canadian Address, System
is not available till november then December in Canada. So I could not peak.

The XRZ has a couple of extra features, HDMI on the front, Composite and a
dolby jack on zone 2. also cable out. I have these on my RX2400 but
a big price diference ... other than that they look the same?

Nice house.:)

You may want to get something to help quiet the room. With those ceilings and hardwood floors and no drapes you have too many reflective surfaces.

Besides carpet

These are Red Pine floors, no rugs for 5 years.
We have a private water front view reALLY don't want drapes unless I have to

I am Just using the Pioneer speaker sytem 17 watt stereo. Some minor echoing. Obviously I am concerned ... any other ideas?

My house is very open, has all hardwood floors, 14ft ceilings, granite and Austin stone everywhere, no drapes. It had bad slap echo but a few "removable" acoustic panels tamed it right down. It sounds way better than I ever thought it would so you should be ok.
