Yamaha Surround A.I.

Hey everyone, not much is out there about the Yamaha surround AI. I want to start a thread to get everyone's input on if Yamahas surround AI is any good, when to use it, should you avoid it?!

I use A.I for over air live antenna TV, like what it brings to game of home HT. For movies, 4K disc depends, sometimes depending on what's encoded on the disc already there's a lot going on so A.I isn't needed I find not anyways. For older Blu-ray disc, A.I is useful other time's not so much. Now streaming movies yes, A.I does a great job I find other's may not like what it brings to their HT experience. Setup's are different in many HT homes so I'd imagine A.I can be helpful or not at all helpful. I'm not promoting A.I, Like I stated take what you like from A.I and leave the rest or not at all it's a choice. I believe with HT there isn't a one size fits all. If it where like that, than there'd be only one surround sound format to choose from. That wouldn't be good at all for HT.

For sure bro, good thread for us Yamaha Fanboyz, to discuss their use of A.I. Maybe pickup some tips on what other's use in their settings and what nots.

I have tried surround AI for Xbox series x Forza horizon 5. I think it sounds a bit better on. A bit more full of a sound. The car engine sound is a bit bigger.

I think it's because the atmos signal is DD + but who knows what the audio format is under the hood.

The receiver says atmos/pcm for games.

Well, I'm soon to be the owner of a PS4 pro. So I'll be able to try out some surround formats. I'll be able to play online with my Son's and grandchildren. They been after me for years to get one. I'll probably more than likely just follow them around, go like, hey it's Pops! Talk over the headset with them.
