Recently won an old stereo amp on e-bay. A Yamaha AX500U
Natural Sound Amplifier.Does anyone know the approx. age of
this unit, It's power output and if it can be used with a turntable?.
I cannot locate a manual and the seller
knows very little about it.

Not sure but that may go back 15-20 years, maybe 75 watts. If it is only a power amp, not a pre amp and power/ integrated amp, no turntable. But, if it has the pre built in, most likely it has turntable inputs and maybe even the two kinds, MM and MC.

Do a Google search. I just typed in your model # and all kinds of info came up. Even a place to buy the manual.

yamaha ax-500u

I bought mine in 1988. It's 85 watts per channel. Mine has turntable inputs, as well as settings for various stylus cartridge types.
