Hi there,
A week ago I installed my new receiver (yamaha rx-v557) with a speakerset nps 430 (also yamaha). Though I'm very pleased with the sound of the speakers, today for fun I connected my two decade old Schneider speakers (don't even know if this brand still exists) as front speakers to my receiver. Now the sound coming from these speakers is much fuller and more crisp than the sound coming from the new Yamaha frontspeakers and I seem to hear much more if sound effects from the movie. Now I'm wondering why this is. Does it have anything to do with the size of the speakers (the yamaha one's are pretty small) or is in the internal desigh of the speakers. I as a big novice, certaintly didn't expect two decades old speaker to out perform a pair of brand new speakers.
I hope someone is willing to shed some light on this for me.
Thanks from a newbie.
