fbs - Yes the DVD player is set to 480p/576p (NTSC/PAL unit).

There are two types of menu on the RX-V2500 - a fascia driven display activated by pressing "DISPLAY" on the remote, and the full GUI by selecting "TOP" (making sure the switch on the right hand side of the remote is set to AMP).

If youve tried everything and still no joy, can you bring it to the store you bought it from?

Agree with the above post. If you truly can't get the GUI to display at all (not volume, etc, but rather the setup GUI) I'd be calling support, or taking it back.

Before you contact Yamaha, perhaps you could try hooking it up via Composite or Svideo? If it works via one of these connections, then perhaps the component cable is at fault, or plugged in incorrectly ( I know you said you checked it, but even the best sometimes make easy mistakes!!) :)

OK Lets start again.

My projector (SIM2 HT200dm) has two options for Component input. The first one is YCRCB 15Khz for normal signal and the other is YCRCB 32Khz for progressive signal.

I’m connecting my dvd (Pioneer 575) in Yamaha with progressive scan on

The Yamaha component output is connected to Projector and set the projector in YCRCB 32Khz and the image from DVD is showing.

Now if I’m trying to show the GUI from Yamaha the signal is lost.

If switching to YCRCB 15Khz the GUI is showing but this mode is not Progressive.

From the above I understand the Yamaha is not showing the GUI in progressive mode.

you may have to switch/turn tv to channel 'video', rather than ch3 you would normally use with cable box, satlite, games etc. This was the case with my older tv. Good luck.
