yamaha rxv2073 shuts off

when ever i listen to music at -13 volume it shuts down after about ten minutes just about every time i can swicth it back on strait away it gets very hot i have a fan on it but does not seem to help it does not turn off when watching movies at -8 i am running 7.2 bi-amped with its own amps the speakers are accusound 8.6 refference speakers which are ment to be rated at 200 watts rms 90db and 2 sub woofers 200 watts my lounge room is 11 foot 25 foot can anyone help me please i live in the middle of australia average temp is about 35 degees celseus

Sounds like your over driving them. I'd not biamp them and try that. What is your crossover set at? It definitely sounds like the speakers are not up to the task of your listening levels.

The volume scale readout for movies to music isn't necessarily comparable either. Does sound like you''re asking a bit more out of the setup than the avr can handle. I'd also stop the bi-amping thing, just a waste of wire....but check your connections just in case you've got a stray strand of wire or something along those lines while you're at it....

ps You might think about a cooling fan for the avr....the avr has plenty of ventilation around it?

pps You do have a fan on a reread, as was asked what is it?

What is sitting on top of the receiver? If you have it in a cabinet that doesn't allow good air flow, you need to change that. Also, blowing air onto a receiver isn't as effective as blowing air across.

If you don't have some way to cool the air in your house, you'll need to wait until the temperature is lower to run it so hard.
