You do realize that accessories4less has them for cheaper? With the difference you can even get an extended warranty.

nibhaz,

I will probably take you up on that offer. My main issue is connections now. Prefer to run my HDMI's directly to my TV (do not want to run receiver all the time and do not need up-conversion). But hate to miss out on the new surround formats. Considered a HDMI splitter for my BD player but may try this setup.

HDDVR to TV by HDMI and optical audio to receiver (Dolby Digital 5.1 is all you get from DirectTV anyway).

BD player to TV Component video connection/composite audio (have to settle for 1080i without the receiver being on) HDMI to receiver then to TV (1080p and new audio formats when receiver is on).

Also not sure about using the rear channels for bi-amping my front speakers. Not sure if it would be beneficial or not. That is the way I have them setup now but using a separate amp for the subs in my 2.5's. Need you guys input on this one.

OK unpacked the 876 and ran through a quick setup. First impression "Box It Up and Return It". How can this thing sound worse than my 10 year old sony?
The answer is setup. Ran up on this thread http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showpost.php?p=12162481&postcount=2

Ran the setup again using a tripod for the mic, tweeked the levels + 1.5/speaker, set the center and surrounds to 80z. The result was dramatic. This thing sounds amazing for a receiver. Thanks nibhaz for steering me this direction.

I am really glad that you found the Audyssey set-up guide over at AVS. Buy following the guide you’re pretty much ensured to get good results. On the other hand, if you just wing it results defiantly vary, and usually for the worse, as it seems you discovered.:D

Since you’re obviously browsing the AVS forums I’m sure you’ve ran into 876 owners thread. There’s a lot of good info in there, but you need to wade through all of the palaver.;)
