Yamaha RXV1400

The Amp pop at mute to -80db vice versa. also intermittent pop during cd, play and at song change. Amp is only 2yrs old. I unplugged it to transfer it to a newly bought rack then this annoying strange popping sound that cause my speaker cone/woofer to shrink in and out as it pops start to happen.

How do I reset this machine OR any other solution?? I swap cable and speaker from left to right ...same problem only on right speaker. left was good. disconnect all cable and leave only speaker amp connected and plays the radio.. pop intermittently also.. had another main speaker attached to preout as I did monoblock also affexted on right speaker for the popping sound.

Please help all who knows...THANKS A MILLION

I am not sure about the 1400. But the 659 has a section in the owners manual for trouble shooting. If you look under the "amp shuts off" section it should tell you about being exposed to high voltage and how to reset the protective circuits. I am not sure if that is going to fix the problem but check your manual for how to reset it. If I get the chance to look the manual up for you I will and then post.

Anyone knew of a reliable YAMAHA SUPPORT EMAIL coz I don't seem to any reply from this poor service support product called Y.A.M.A.H.A too bad..

The manual does tell you how to reset the processor. It's low tech though. Disconnect the power cord for 30 seconds. Seems that is how your troubles started. It's worth a try though.

I had a similar problem with my RXV1400, but mine did burned out!! after a week of weird popping sounds everytime I switched from CD to DVD or viceversa. The're a pair of tiny transistors in the preamp section that fail with some current fluctuations... The good news are: It's cheap. 80 dlls. and you're done.

Well I'll be damned. In the trouble shooting part of the manual that I pulled up they say to unplug 30 secs. Clearly that is wrong as Nomo's link shows.

Compliments of Zumbo from some time back. I've never had a reason to test it but I thought it might be of some use some day.
Honestly I think the reciever might be all done dancin' but this is probably worth a shot.
