Yamaha RXV 659 / XBOX 360 hookup

Can I wire - r,b,g from the XBOX to the receiver? or, Does it have to go directly to the TV? I tried it hooking the 360 to the receiver with no luck.

You can go XBox through 659 and to the display via comp. Just assign the inputs on the Yammy.

That was my first set-up that failed. So, I wired it to the TV.

You have to tell the receiver which input to assign the component inputs to, the same goes for the digital audio inputs as well. Just double check that you are assigning the right input to the right components... you may think component input 3 is actually component input 1, or vice versa... it's easy to make that mistake. Also, make sure your tv and receiver are on the right inputs too.

Am I losing any features if the 360 is connected directly to the TV as opposed to the Yammy.
