I am new to this forum and need some advice from you guys that have been around for awhile. I have read just about everything there is to know about the YAMAHA RXV-2600 and I am going to purchase one. My question to you guys is: Has anyone had any warranty issues by purchasing a receiver from an unathorized dealer? I have read Yamaha's web site and they state they will not honor their warranty if the product was purchased from anyone other than an authorized dealer. I have found that a person can save anywhere from $400.00 to $500.00 by purchasing from an unauthorized dealer. I see where most unauthorized dealers carry warrantys but I am curious as to how good they are. Any input will be appreciated. Thanks.

I'd shy away from purchasing anything from an UNauthorized dealer. There are plenty of authorized dealers that will come off of retail prices enough to make it worth buying from them and getting the warranty is worth a lot.
my 2cents.
If it was a $150 purchase, maybe I can see risking it, but for more than that... I like having the factory recognized warranty!
I haven't had any experience with purchasing a warranty from an unauthorized dealer, but I've heard them describe them to me. I forget all the details they told me, but for what it's worth, it wasn't enough of a savings and I still ended up going with a Denon authorized dealer to get my equipment.

Thank you Zildjian I really appreciate the input. I also was considering the Denon 3806 but the up scaling and few other features on the Yamaha won me over. Thanks again.
