Hello fellow audiofiles!!

Does anyone have experiance with running a directtv HD DVR through this receiver? I wonder if it will Upconvert my standard Non Hi Def channels to a better resolution. It improves my DVD's no question but my HR10-250 ( Direct TV) is located away from my RXV-2500. I could easily relocete it but wondered if it could actually improve my DirectTV signal and thus be worth the effort.

Any help would be appreciated!!

Thanks!

The Yamaha RX-V2500 does not perform any video scaling or deinterlacing.

a little over my head. But thanks!! It does improve my DVD picture, I can clearly see the difference. Does the lack of the above mentioned features mean no?? That it will not make a differancewhen conecting the HD TIVO DVR to the receiver then to the TV??

Correct,
You will not gain any picture quality by routing your DVR through the receiver and the to the TV. The only benefit would be the convenience of a single component video cable from the receiver to the TV.
