Hi guys-- new to this site--hope you can help...

I have a Yamaha RX-V750 that I thought would be nice if I could combine TV/DVD into one remote so I used the reciver remote and "programmed" the other remotes to it. My problem is that since then I can't control the volume or seems like anything on my receiver...I've tried to reset the factory settings as shown in owner's manual several times but haven't succeeded, so any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forum!

According to the owner's manual, you need to push the "AMP" button on the remote in order to control certain functions such as the volume on the receiver. I'd suggest giving that a try.

If you would, please let us know if that works for you. Thanks!

I have the Yamaha 750 as well, and Adam's suggestion neatly coincided with my own. I press the "AMP" button to regain control over the receiver itself.

cheers,

I pushed the "AMP" button but still can't adjust the volume, I can shut off the receiver by pushing the "standby" button but I have to turn it on at the receiver itself... Thanks. I bought the receiver in Jan. 2005.

Pressing the "amp" button will only give you control over the options highlighted in yellow. It's kinda like hitting "shift" on the keyboard.
That's how it works for my Yamaha remote.
The big volume buttons should work your receiver...
Have you tried any of the troubleshooting suggestions starting at page 79?

I'm assuming this is your remote:

Yes, that is what why remote looks like.
My large volume buttons don't work for the receiver--when I push them nothing changes...
I have probably tried the troubleshooting in the past, but haven't recently--I'll try troubleshooting later today.

Weird. There should be a way to reset the mode to default functions.

I need to reset to factory settings, have tried going through the instructions as in the manual but that didn't help. May need to send remote to one of you and use yours to reprogram my remote!?

I got the remote back to factory settings!! I did as shown on pg. 68 in manual--clearing function sets. I tried several times to go through the FCTRY setting and it would come back C:NG (unsuccessful). I kept trying going thru the menu and scroll down so I decided to scroll up to FCTRY and it "cleared" not sure what I did different but I can turn receiver on/off and adjust the volume from remote...:D:D Thanks for your time guys
