$435 denon - 7 x 100W
$340 yamaha - 7 x 95W

Is denon worth the extra $100?

I like the sound of the Yamaha better, using Infinity Alpha series speakers.

Just a couple questions to ask yourself:

Do both models have all the audio and video hook-ups that you need (possibly including the dreaded x-box and computer) ? Do both have any second room capabilities you might want ?

Also worth considering, can you make do with a five or six channel unit from last year that might have a little bit better overall sound quality at the same price ?

I have identified these two models as the best option for 7.1 with about 100w per channel, for around $400. I'm sure they have similar inputs and outputs, but if I'm overlooking anything please point it out.

Hello
IMOHO you would need to jump up to the RVX 1500
to surpass the perfromance of the Denon 2805
The value of the Yamaha line begins at the HTR 5790 and up models
Hope this helps

main diff I see is the Denon has a glowing remote and 3 composite video inputs... the Yammy has an unlit remote and only 2 composite inputs..

where r u purchasing the 2105 for $430? Is this a new unit or refurb. I have been searching around for deals, and this sounds incredible for the 2105. the 1905 i could get for 450$

vinny,

why do you suggest the yamaha 650 over the denon 2105?

Have you owned both models?

I think the 2105 is a heck of a good deal. For the most part, its the same as the 2805.
