Yamaha RX-V565 7.1 Speaker Issue

Hello All,

I have finally wired my place for 7.1 Surround. Thought it would be simple. Wired two speakers to Yamaha. Only place left after 5.1 speaker set up I have had for years. During the speaker set up menu the reciever doesn't recognize the Surround back left or right speakers. Is there an internal "switch" I need to throw? Any ideas would be helpful. Thanks.

On most receivers you will need to assign the amp to the surround back speakers. It will be in the menu under speaker setup or amp zone assignment.

No multi-zone/bi-amp feature on this unit.

Seems like auto-setup should have detected them. You can do a manual setup telling the receiver they’re connected, pg 39, then run test tones/level adjust, pg 41, to make sure they’re producing sound.

Try re-running setup after you make the changes.

Thanks. Had to go to manual set up to "turn on" back speakers.
