Hey everyone I am new to the forum have read quite a bit on here and decided to finally register and post up.

I am new to the Audio Video world, I have spent a few weeks reading up into this stuff. Picked up a Panasonic S2 Plasma which I love and now onto the sound system. I am wanting to know some people's opinions and thoughts on the Yamaha RX-V467. I have a price range of $300-350 I know that is not much in the game of things but I am just starting out. Question I have is some sites I have visited show this receiver being 105w per channel at 8ohm others are 105w per channel at 6ohm does anyone know which one it actually is?? Second question is some places have it marked at Yamaha RX-V467 others have it Yamaha RX-V467BL is there anything different between these two? I have been on Yamaha website and can not find the Yamaha RX-V467BL so I am not to sure. Hope some of you can give me some input whether it is good or bad. I was going to get a Denon but was not to impressed with 75w per channel with it. I know speakers are a big deal and I bought Polk (I didn't wanna post links as I know some forums have rules about posting out of site links) They are 8ohm and according to Polk they recommended me stay at 8ohms. Like I said I am looking for some over all general help or if anyone would recommend another receiver. I do not want to go over the $350 price tag really like I said I just wanna start off with all of this.

Thanks Everyone a head of time!!!!!

BL means it's black.

Make sure the site is authorized to sell Yamaha.

If you don't want the gimmick of 3D capability, you could get a higher-end unit for the same price.

Thank you for the quick response....

3D is something I am NOT at all interested. If you could recommend some other receivers to check out. I really wanting a really good receiver with 90+ watt per channel.

A tad over your budget, but looks to be a great deal. Authorized Yamaha dealer.
Thanks again...

Have you had any dealings with that company as I can not find much on them?? Do you have input on the value/performance of the Yamaha Receivers? I have read some reviews of people rating it with the same performance of a Denon 1910.... I am kind of looking for input with stuff people have used and know work good and sound really good.

I purchased my Yamaha Z7 from 6thave. You can find them listed in the authorized dealer section on the Yamaha website. I also purchased my wife's Alpine 9887 from there as well.

The receiver I listed is a bargain. If you are waiting for input from members with $350 receivers, you will end-up with a $350 receiver.

Most replies will inform you to grab a bargain on a previous year model. When people find a deal, such as I found, they usually sell-out quick.

Your system is gonna sound however the Polk Audio speakers you picked-out sound.

Another thing I see is people recommending refurbs(factory reconditioned). I don't prefer to purchase refurbs.

Yea i agree I do not want refurb myself. I am trying to figure out if the one from link posted is a factory refurb. That is going to be the one I order as soon as a card payment processes. Suppose to take 1-3 days so I hope they still have this. Shipping pretty fast with this company??

I have never had a problem. They are one of the first places I look when shopping for myself.

Call them for product info.

Well after 3 phone calls canceled the order... Each phone call they would tell me a different story as to what is going on with this order. First they had it and it is just processing. Next phone call it should ship today... Next phone call talked to a manager that told me they Do not have it and are waiting on shipment from Yamaha which could take 1-2 weeks or longer he said. Then told me that I need to be patient that is when I told him when people spend close to $400 they do not need to be patient they need to be told the truth and not guesstimates of when they will have something IF they get it. Which according to the girl before the manager she said they might not get more. Sorry but that place is a joke of a business and I would tell anyone to spend the extra 20-30 and go somewhere that can guarantee a ship date or at least tell ya "hey you should have your stuff sometime in the next year" lol

If it makes you feel any better the XX5 series of recievers were probably the worst model year Yamaha has ever had.
While that model is not without it's merits; I'd look at the previous year's XX3 or this year's XX7 models.

Just my opinion.

I think I may have ordered something from 6th ave at some point but can't remember, so that tells me that if I did there were no issues.

This will certainly change the way I recommend something to someone. Hell man, you can't just click buy and expect the item to be at your door in 1-3 days. These people are selling tons of equipment every minute. They have better things to do than babysit someone paranoid about $400. As I stated, they are authorized dealers.

Amazon has the same unit for $430. They are authorized as well. If you do order it, take a friggin chill pill. Please don't PM me any more. Done.

6thave is so cool, you could even call them back and get a similarly featured/powered Denon for similar money. Had a good friend do this exact thing. Again, if you do this, chill. These people are going to take care of you. I told you from the beginning, these close-out items sell quick.

Thank you for trying to inform me of how things work when you order products... But funny you purchase an item thru any large website including NewEgg, BestBuy, Amazon, or Tiger Direct or any other large website you might not get the item in 1-3 days but you at least get a confirmation that you will get an item. Not a "We should get a shipment between 1-2 weeks and but it could take a lot longer". No thanks Pretty funny I purchased from newegg and bestbuy all the time. Hell my speakers came thru newegg and took a total of 3 days to come in that is including the day of purchase. That is how a company works not wait up to 2 weeks and we might have your product. Hell if I order through Jegs and Summit which I assure you are larger companies that stock 5x the amount of product they do... and as long as i order before 4 or so I have it the very next day. So please spare me the they are babysitting me and I am paranoid. I think you need to try and shop with a large company that does care about its customers they made NO effort to try and work with me or apologize when i called RIGHT BEFORE i made the order and asked if it was in stock and they said YES!!!! When you purchase and item from someone and then they tell you they can not find your order number and don't know what to tell you do you other then keep calling back, tell me how that makes a great first impression on someone. Think I am being paranoid do a simple good search and read the hundreds of reviews of people having the same and worse experience. Now I do admit there are plenty of good reviews. Either or you can spare me your crap of how you think i am paranoid and then tell me if you would like your money to sit at a company you have never delt with the promise they might have it in 2 weeks. And don't act like $400 is just chump change. And like you thought also I thought it was a closeout model but they said it was not and they are receiving more so I dunno lol

I don't wanna rant anyone, I do appreciate your help with suggestions and such. But when I asked if they could do anything for me they said we can cancel your order I wasn't even mad just trying to figure it all out they didn't even offer. I ordered a Denon 1911 it will be here next week hopefully this one works out. Like I said before I am sure if you were in my position you would not sit and wait for them to say we either got it or just refund your money after 2 weeks of waiting.

Edit: Hit the dang the button too fast lol

I am assuming you ordered Sunday or Monday, judging by this thread. Even if you ordered Sunday, pretty sure the order was processed Monday.

According to this thread, and my PM, you were freaking-out Wednesday.

That is 2 days.

Sorry they did not meet your standards.

As you mention in this reply quoted, you are pleased with Amazon. They have the unit, at the moment. Calling them to check to see if they have it puts you that many steps away from being one of the ones getting one from the limited quantity on hand.

No need for continued flaming. You stated your point, and I stated mine. Good luck with whatever you decide to do.:)

EDITED post #15 as well. Just another suggestion to try and help.
