I have a Yamaha DVD-C950 DVD player connected to a Yamaha RX-V2500 A/V receiver via an optical connection. Which is better to use, the DD/DTS decoders of the reveiver or the DVD player? Currently, the receiver is set to STRAIGHT and it detects the type of signal coming from the DVD player (using DVD's decoders). Is it possible to send an un-decoded signal from this player to the receiver and let the receiver's decoders handle everything? The manual does not address how to do this. Or is my current setup optimal?
