I do not believe that model is available in Gold...

The only gold models are the RX-V1GL and the RX-V3000GL, however I am not familair with foreign (non US) models.

hawke,

Sadly most of the Yamaha products are sold in the gold color here in Asia and you have to wait for months to get them in black. Wish we could do an even exchange as my DSP-AZ1 is in black. My local dealer has the RXV-1300 in gold and it is a general multiple voltage design.

I love my Yamaha in black and have always done so since I started buying them in the US. Gold is a strict no-no and so is cherry they use for the speakers. I prefer mine all black if possible.

I like cherry speakers! hehe Since most people like to match their (multi-brand) equipment, black is the only way to go in the US...

JVC always cracked me up when their stuff came out in silver/grey... Like I'm going to buy ALL JVC equipment...

Thanks for the heads up on foreign versions - I had no idae about the gold.

hawke,

If you ever need one in Cherry or Gold, just ask, it is the most popular color here. Indians are obsessed with GOLD consuming 45% of the world's total Gold sales. They generaly prefer the gold finish and the dealers only stock that.

I prefer black only and nothing else and Piano finish is my personaly favoraite.

Thanks for the suggestion hawke, will give them a look. Yamaha sold their reference r/2 series speakers in beautiful Piano finish akeen to their Grand pianos. Sadly they only sold those speakers for a limited time in US before I could get the money to buy them.
