Yamaha RX-A2000 & Zone/Ipod Issue

Does anyone have any insight on how to use an Ipod in zone 2 while watching TV in the main zone? I have the Yamaha YID-w10 Ipod dock but I cannot get the iPod to play in another zone (2 or 3) while listening to something else in the main zone. Other things seem to work fine. It's just that whenever the Ipod gets connected it seems to override everything else. So, while it says in the manual that iPod playback is doable in zones 2 and 3, it just doesn't seem to work. I'm not sure if its the dock and its digital or what. Any help/suggestions would be appreciated.

Have you been able to listen to other zone 2 content while zone 1 is on a different source?

I have the A2000 and have been successful at this (Zone 2 - Audio 1 input, Main Zone - AV1 input)

Unless Yamaha has changed things, Zone 2 sources can only be analog.
If you have your Ipod connected digitally; that's the problem.

The vast majority of receivers require analog connections for sources that you want to listen to in Zone 2. If the dock is connected digitally, it won't work in zone 2.

The Yammie has an actual docking port that he's probably using. I have no idea how all that works and the manuals didn't help my understanding.
