Noobie who loves music but not so knowledgeable about equipment. Problem: I connected a pair of Outlaw M2200 mono block amps to the front pre outs, disconnected speakers from speaker inputs and connected to 2200's. Changed power out assign to 7 channel + front as manual states. Attempted to run YPAO speaker setup but volume was soooo loud from first speaker (front left) in rotation I immediately shut test off. Not sure if I fried speaker. Contacted Yamaha but tech told me external amp had to have volume control. That answer contradicts the Yamaha manual as it recommends amp w/o volume. Tried to convince tech to no avail, so no answer to problem. Yamaha manual makes no mention of recalibrating speakers, but only seems common sense that you would and M2200 MANUAL ADVISES TO DO SO. I can't run YPAO test again until this can be fixed. Responded to Yamaha feed back survey with an unsatisfactory, so don't know if I'll hear back . I really miss my music so I'm turning to the real experts. Hope you guys or gals can help. Sorry for being so long winded but thought I should be as specific possible. Thanks.

I'm pretty sure you asked this same question a few days ago and several people tried to answer it to the best of their ability.

We may be all out of experts in that particulat area and you just may have to rely on the manufacturers expertise in this matter. They made the unit and they wrote tha manual. I don't thnk we know much more than they do.
