Yamaha Receiver Issues After Power Outage

Hi,

I've got the Yamaha HTR6280B Receiver paired with a 5.1 Polk set. Everything was setup perfectly with my Harmony remote, but then I had a power outage.

Now when I watch a blu-ray or something in the dsp Standard Movie mode (which I've always used and has always worked great), sound effects come through normally but the dialogue/speech is incredibly quiet.

Has anyone ever heard of something like this happening or know how to fix it? Any help you can provide is greatly appreciated!

Thanks

EDIT: everything was plugged into a surge protector.

Check all of your settings. Maybe the unit reset itself back to factory defaults. If the settings remain unchanged, it may have incurred damage .

Is you center channel speaker working? What happens to the test tones? Are all speakers working? Go though your complete set up and check the settings did not change.

If everything seems correct, do a reset of your receiver back to factory defaults and set it up again.

If you still have a problem then your receiver needs service.

A surge protector is petty much useless. Surge protection, belongs at the panel in the home. You also need a battery backup UPS to protect your equipment from events like you experienced.

Must have somehow reset some of it's settings. I used the optimization mic and re-ran the configuration process. Everything seems to be working normally again.

Thanks for the advice
