Yamaha outdoor speaker mounting plates

Hello all! I'm new to the forums here. I have a question about some speakers that I bought recently.

I have a pair of NS-AW150 Yamaha outdoor speakers. They come with mounting brackets and a set of large diameter threaded bolts for attachment of the bracket to another mounting plate. Here is a picture:

Here is a picture of the page in the documentation that shows the part I am interested in:

I've spoken with Yamaha and the part that is pictured in the documentation is an after-market product (not sold by Yamaha). I've checked at all the stores in my area (Best Buy, Ultimate Electronics, Circuit City, Home Depot, Lowes, Menards, and Radioshack) and none of them carry anything like what I describe. I've also spent quite a bit of time looking online. Can anyone offer some suggestions for my search? I've got my heart set on that extra axis of freedom.

Your second link is the same as the first. What are you attaching them to?

Oops

Oops (Windows copy and paste is a pain). Thanks for pointing that out, AVRat.

Here is the correct second link:

It is the part labeled 'Mega mounting plate'.

It looks like that mounting plate should have come with the bracket since you have the screw. You may not need it depending on where you're mounting the speakers. The bracket itself has enough fastening holes.

That plate is not included nor is it manufactured by Yamaha (hence: 'after-market'). It would have been nice for it to be included with the mounting bracket, but as you point out- there are plenty of holes for mounting of the bracket itself to a surface. My hope was that the plate pictured would be a common/standard type of mount since those screws were included with the speaker. Most speakers I have seen that have this type of bracket have the same size hole through the middle regardless of brand. I am quite aware that the speakers can be mounted with the hardware included, but I am searching in order to get some extra flexibility in the mounting. Mounting using the hole in the middle allows the entire assembly to be rotated.

Has anyone seen this type of plate used?

It's hard to tell by the picture, but it looks like a standard round cover for an outside light box. The picture of the large screw supports this as well. If this is the case, you can find that cover at any hardware store such as Lowes in the electrical department. The cover will be maleable and is made for motion detector lights. Take the screw with you to make sure it's the right size for the cover. However, I'm with the other poster how said to use the screw holes in the bracket.
