Yamaha HTR-5790 Set Up Problem

I have a question about the auto setup function on a Yamaha HTR-5790 (or any other Yamaha that uses the same process). The auto setup function performs the following checks (wiring, distance, size, equalizing, and level) one after the other. For some unknown reason, when I run the setup program, upon completion of any check the a/v receiver shuts down. I can ask the program to skip a check and rerun everything and it will run whatever the first check is in the list but the receiver will shutdown at the completion of the check. I am aware of no setting that would make it do this so I was wondering if it might be, first, a bad wiring connection somewhere, or worse, a bad circuit in my receiver. This is not the first time I have had the system set up and the feature worked flawlessly the first time. We just moved into a new house and I have been working the last 3 nights on trying to get this to work and I am making no progress.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. BTW, I did an extensive search trying to find the answer to this and couldn’t find anything. I normally exhaust all options before throwing a question out to the masses. I hope someone can shed some light on my problem.

I have the 1500, same as the 5790 (basically). I've never had that problem nor have I heard of it. Sounds like a serious problem with the reciever itself. Unless some one else chimes in with a idea it sounds like it should go in for repairs. Did you get a warranty?
