Hi all,

I have the 5450 receiver and love it.... it's about 4 years old now. Just a few days ago the center channel started to get static/lower volume in it. I checked all wires and connections and put anther speaker on it too(same issue). Just wondering if any guru knows what is happening. It is in an enclosed entertainment center and does get warm in there but not overwhelming. I do open the door to let more air in most days. Sometimes it will correct itself but mostly it is staticy sounding..... Is it shot?? Fixable?? any suggestions would be great..... don't really want to have to buy a new one. Thanks!!

You might have a cold solder joint that is coming apart enough to cause this. troubleshooting and isolation it is the harder problem and may be more than what you may want to do?

Yes that was a thought. I am going to take it out and take the cover off and check the center channel spots and see if I can see anything. I feel comfortable doing that. Hope I find something. thanks.
