Folks!

I stream through an apple tv 4k. On this I have 2 screens, a 4k projector and a small 19inch tv 720p resolution.

The problem is, when I set it to 4k, only the projector will accept the resolution. The tv can't process anything passed 720p. How can I still see my tv when streaming music? I do not want to put the projector on every time.

Hope this is clear enough.

You might need to explain your setup a bit more, ie, product information. If you have two videos outputs it likely something simple like settings. If your TV doesn't accept a 4k signal, check your settings.

What type of connections does the small TV have? I don't have an Apple TV, but I suspect that it is not capable of sending 4k to one output and 720p to another output at the same time. You would need to set the Apple TV to 720p when the projector is off and back to 4k when on but that will likely get annoying over time.

I looked for an external converter, but most converters do the opposite; they upscale from 720p to 1080 or 4k and output in HDMI. If you can find a converter which downscales video to 720p, that is an option. Otherwise I would recommend upgrading the TV or using a 4k computer monitor.

Thanks for the replies

I have a Yamaha a4a Aventage.

The small tv is HDMI connected. I think I might have to set the resolution each and every time, bummer.

I will look for that converter.

I just found the downconverter to 1.2 from 2.2. Thanks for that one, I would have not thought of such a thing! Usually we always want to upscale!
