So I have a yammy c750 which I don't really care for but need to use till i get up the cash for a new player.
The other day I was listening to some music and the power in my apt blinked off for a second. The player froze up and was putting out a high pitch sound. I unplugged it and it seemed fine but i have not tried a dvd until today. So i go to put in a dvd today and it won't see the disk. It just says no disk and moves on. It sees cds fine. It won't see dvd-a either. During my rage it did manage to read a dvd but only once. Any ideas? I bet I am screwed but any suggestions would be great.
Thanks for your help:mad: :(

P.S. how do think this is gonna effect my view of Audioholics glowing reviews seeing I already was dissapointed with the units crappy mechanics

I can't really help I'm afraid. All I can suggest is that something is up with the part of the player that detects the flag on a disc which tells the player what it is that it is reading. This would explain why CD's work, but DVD's (of any kind it seems) don't.

Sorry. :(

Did you have the player hooked up through a surge protector? Can you get into the menus and does it have a "Factory Reset"? If so, try that.

WRT the Audioholics reviews, I'm not sure which one you read. I read the one by Ray Adkins and thought he was pretty clear that the C750 had a poor user interface and slow load times. That, combined with similar reviews and user comments, is why I decided not to buy a C750. The only thing really "glowing" about the review was the audio performance. I have heard a C750 and IMO the review is pretty accurate, on all counts.

I was a little pissed when I wrote that and my anger was misguided I am sure.

It was connected to surge protecter none of my other equiptment was effected. Anyway I will try to do a factory reset when I get home. Thanks for the response.

you should try and see what other discs it still reads like mp3 SACD and see what happens.
One good thing I have discovered about the C750 is that it reads mpeg4 data files and outputs sound throught the analog multi-ch. Which means you dont need a dvd burner to put downloaded video on the big sceen.;)
