I returned my 750 and now have the 555ES. How do you like the sony and how do you think it compares to the 750? I have to say,the sony is build like a tank.

CD sounds the same
SACD sounds better on 555 (but not twice as good as price would suggest)
DVD-A blows away my Mitsubishi, (555 is N/A)
Video-haven't compared but haven't noticed anything wrong with 750
750 bonus-DPII (my receiver doesn't have this so it is an added bonus)
DVD-A quality, previously I thought SACD was way better
then DVD-A. While I still prefer SACD, it's now "by a nose & not
a horse length". My DVD-A selection has tripled since getting this
player.

750 gripes-changing 5 discs at a time is more difficult then it should be
(besided the drawer only extending 75% of the way I believe
the drawer's height is too shallow, not allowing my big fingers
adequate room to get under a disc-this may be compounded
by the player being at nose level (5'9") off the floor but it's no
where as easy as the Sonys I've had. I try to use the exchange
feature & only swap 4 discs at a time.)
no dedicated FF or FR button on remote
player does not auto skip to next disc with DVD discs

final opinion-great player, especially at <$300. If I didn't have the 555
to compare I believe I would be very happy with the SACD.

sorry, I didn't read your reply close enough.
I love my 555. My only complaints are sometimes I have to hit a button twice & the label for the play button has worn off already (I'm sure the stop & open labels are not far behind).

I just figured out to use the jog for FF. I only paid $425 for my sony, not twice of the 750 which was $324.

James,
I added thisplayer to my system at the same time as a 2900 and I am as pleased as i could be with it.
Because I also have the 2900, the only reason I bought it was to have a 5 disc changer that would not be too much of a downgrade in audio quality from the Denon when I just wanted to pop in 5 discs and forget about it. It has not dissapointed, and actually, it has done nothing but amaze me. I cannot speak to the DVD-A or SACD abilities, I leave that for the Denon, but for Redbook CDs this would be the best player I have ever had were it not for the Denon.
