Just wondering if anyone has ever heard of this model. Its an old surround processor that has front and rear effects. I bought it at a garage sale for $50.00 and was supposedly originally sold for $3600. It didn't have an instruction book, so I have no clue what the specs on it are. I already wrote yamaha about 3 weeks ago and have yet to hear anything back from them. Thanks for any information you can provide.

Oh, and Google doesn't seem to help unless you know Japanese.

I bought a new Yamaha DSP-2000 between 1988 - 90. I still have it but haven't used it in a couple of years. Great piece of equipment. It runs on the hot side, but I've never had any problems with it (except for text wearing off on the remote).

The nice thing about the DSP-2000 is that you can display the settings on your TV. Doing so will allow you to see more parameters and it's just easier to see what you're doing. The following is from memory (which is rusty) but if you need additonal help, let me know and I'll see if I can dig up the manual.

I hope you acquired a remote when you purchased yours. The remote has 18 hall/theater buttons. The "factory preset" button will ALWAYS show you the original settings. You can change parameters to a hall/theater and store it by using the "memory" button, the "user settings" button, and pressing any of the 18 hall/theater buttons on the remote. You can rename the hall if you wish.

Pressing the remote "factory pre-set" button and button #16 will get you the original Theater 1 hall. Pressing "user settings" and button #16 will also get you the original Theater 1, until you have stored your own modified hall (it doesn't have to be Theater 1) over it.
