Yamaha C-750 Changer problems?

I bought a Yamaha c-750 dvd changer knowing the changer part may be a little slow, but a lot of times when you try to advance to another disc and then open the drawer it locks, and has to be opened manually from underneath the unit. It happens quite often. Is this a problem with my unit? Has anyone else had this problem?

I've never had to manually open mine (I didn't really know how yet ). However, if I hit the open button right after turning it on with the power button or remote control it will never open (I then hit open again to "close" it and then once more to really open it). One might consider it a quirky product for that and freezing up on one particular track of one particular DVD-A (Yamaha send me a poorly worded cut-and-paste email to tell me it didn't really happen when I asked them if it was a known firmware issue, go figure), so I couldn't say if returning yours for another actually would help. The first one I bought I traded for another due to incesant audio (but not video, somehow!) skipping in DVDs; that's not really your problem though .

I've never had that particular problem. The problem I have is that when you push the button on the top right that is supposed to open the tray, nothing happens ,so I end up having to push it 2 - 3 more times just to open the dang thing.

Have you been able to figure out how to open the tray from the remote? It sure would be nice to get a head start before I go over there and just wait forever for it to open.

Yes, hold down the stop button for a couple seconds (until it says "Open" on the display).
