Hi Folks,

I just hooked up my new Yamaha 663, and did the auto setup.

The receiver determined that 4 out of my 5 speakers have reverse wiring.

I checked the wires, and all are hooked up correctly.

It's odd that it picks 4 out of 5 and not all 5.

Anyone knows why this is happening? What is the receiver measuring to determine speaker polarity?

Thanks!

Boris

There are some speaker models that have the polarity switched on the tweeters on purpose. (something about making them sound smoother).
My Yamie had the same issue with my Infinity Primus 360's (but not the 150's). Double check your wiring and then don't worry about it.

Did that on my RX-V2500, too. I agree with gmichael.

Thanks guys.

Does anyone know how receivers determine speaker phase? Just curious.
