Hey all, just a question for those who have done this setup (or similar setup with different AVR but same power amp).
Most curious thing is that the first thing I notice, after hooking up the power amp, is that the volume level appear to be a few decibels lower when compared to using the 663 stand alone. (but it still sounds fantstic the 1565 when watching movies, feels my wharfedales are getting used better)
COuld this because of the output sensitivity of the preamp and the input sensitivty of the power amp?
Rated Output Voltage/Output Impedance of the Yamaha 663 is 1.0 V/1.2 kΩ, and my rotel 1565 Input Impedance/Sensitivity 8.2 k Ohms/1.25 volt.
Now is it because the voltage doesn't match explain the volume differences? As I said its only a few decibels, but on the whole, it really does sound great.
