I have the Emotiva XPA-5 running finally after it sat around the house for 2 weeks. At first nothing but the Sub was working from the pre outs on my Yamaha Reciever. Nothing from the speakers. I didn't want to box this GODZILLA up and ship it back! So this morning after looking again at the back panel....WOULD YOU BELIEVE, I noticed all the switches were set to balanced instead of unbalanced?! That's what you get when you give a High Tech Fighter Jet to a Bi-Plane pilot, you can't get off the ground. Well, I didn't realize I had the volume up high on the reciever, so when the XPA-5 kicked in the afterburners, it blew my wife out of the Living Room, OK, it made me jump TOO. At the time I was trying to find out what problem was I had 'WHOs NEXT' in the CD Player, and Keith Moons drum solo at the end of Won't Get Fooled Again came up right then. This AMP gave me CHILLS as I felt like I was standing right next to Keiths drum set as he pounded out his THUNDER! And of course I kept the volume up, to get the full effect. The Mythos 2s and the XPA-5 didn't disapoint! Well, just what is waiting when the UMC-1 gets here? I can't wait. So, when you order an Emotiva Amp, don't make the same mistake I did. Check those SWITHCES on the rear panel....I'm probably the only one who never checked those switches anyway.
