Finally pulled together the cash to get my XPA-3. Picked it up yesterday from FedEx customer counter. I hooked it up and......about 5 minutes into my session the right channel ONLY kept going into protect when I cranked it up. It never did it at moderate levels. My thought is that I have a short in the speaker somewhere because the left one never blew and when I switched the speaker to a different channel it too went into protection at high volumes. Anyone ever had this happen? Again, it only happens when there is a large "draw" or a big change in music. I would think that the short is causing the amp to push beyond its means just on that 1 speaker, as the other never seams to be effected. Here is what I am running.

1. MArantz SR6003 AVR
2. EMO X series interconnects
3. EMO XPA-3
4. Paradigm Studio 60's v5
5. Dedicated 20 amp fuse outlet

I will get a volt meter tomorrow and check both speakers, what range should I be looking for? Hey, Other than that this thing rocks! Night and day difference from my AVR!

One more thing. Vincent from Emotiva walked me through some stuff this morning to make sure they were good on their end. He said I need to be running all 3 channels, not just the 2 I am now. I bought this thing for multiple HT and 2 channel use. Any truth in this statement?
